Grandchildren

Grandchildren are the best, they say.
They giggle, bounce,
And grin like gremlins
They try to make us laugh
And laugh out loud when we do.

Grandchildren are the best, they say.
They love us, hug us
And give us kisses.
They make us laugh and cry
Our own sweet, soft, kittens.
They go home to spread their joy
And leave peace and quiet in their stead.

Children are the best, I say.
They are my body and my soul,
My happiest memories,
My saddest dreams.
And when they go home
They take my heart with them.
